Now, the company has expanded its A-series with the launch of the Galaxy A16 5G in India, a successor to the A15 5G. While being a new entrant to the sub-Rs 20,000 smartphone category, it brings one crucial upgrade, the 6 years of security update, which is rare to be found on a budget phone.

The new Samsung Galaxy A16 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. Moreover, it features a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate.

In optics, it has a triple camera setup at the back headlined by a 50MP main camera supported by a 5MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies, it features a 13MP front camera. For long usage, it packs a 5000mAh battery with 25W charging support, which is usually to be found in Samsung phones at this price. It is also rated with IP54 against dust and water splash.

As mentioned before, the phone comes with 6 years of security updates. Apart from that, the Galaxy A16 5G will also get 6 years of OS updates, which means till October 31, 2030.

The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G launched at a starting price of Rs 18,999 for the base 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. While the other 256GB Storage variant costs Rs 20,000.
