Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim to launch alongside other flagship smartphones in 2025

Delhi Delhi. Samsung is expected to add a fourth smartphone to its Galaxy S series in 2025. It is currently codenamed Galaxy S25 Slim as it could arrive as Samsung's thinnest flagship phone. However, the Galaxy S25 Slim may not debut alongside other Galaxy S25 series phones. A new report claims that Samsung may preview the upcoming slim model at the Galaxy Unpacked event in January, but it may launch the phone later next year.

The folks at Android Authority have seen evidence confirming a delayed launch timeline for the Galaxy S25 Slim. According to the report, the latest One UI 7 beta includes a list of carrier-specific models in the upcoming Galaxy S25 series, but it only mentions three models: SM-S931, SM-S936, and SM-S938. There is currently no fourth model in the list, indicating that the launch of the Galaxy S25 Slim is not on the cards for the next Galaxy Unpacked event.

The absence of the Galaxy S25 Slim's model number from Samsung's upcoming mobile software confirms previous similar findings. For example, when Samsung listed the Galaxy S25 series phones in the GSMA IMEI database as its upcoming models, it initially went ahead with just three models. A fourth model, the SM-S937, was added a few days later, leading to speculation about a slim model. Furthermore, leaks and rumors so far have also indicated that the Galaxy S25 Slim may be in the pipeline for launch in Q2 2025.

If Samsung decides to move to a different launch timeline for its new Galaxy S series phones, it could help the company bridge the gap between the arrival windows for its Galaxy S series and Galaxy Z series models. The delayed launch could also help Samsung build hype around the phone closer to the launch of a similarly designed iPhone in September next year.
