Samsung has expanded its wearable portfolio with the launch of the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 at the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in London. The new smartwatches bring upgraded health tracking, longer battery life, AI-powered wellness features and Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon Wear Elite platform.
The Galaxy Watch 9 is aimed at everyday users, while the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is designed for outdoor enthusiasts and fitness-focused consumers, offering enhanced durability, navigation and endurance features.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 specifications
The Galaxy Watch 9 is powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset and runs the latest Wear OS with Samsung’s One UI Watch interface. It features a brighter AMOLED display, a lighter design and improved battery life, with the larger variant packing up to a 445mAh battery.
Samsung has equipped the smartwatch with its latest BioActive Sensor, offering more accurate health monitoring. New wellness features include Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, Vitals, Fitness Index and advanced sleep tracking. The watch also supports Gemini AI, enabling hands-free voice assistance through the new Raise-to-Talk feature.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 specifications
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is built for rugged use and comes with a 1.52-inch AMOLED display that reaches up to 5,000 nits peak brightness for better outdoor visibility. Samsung has also increased the battery capacity to 800mAh, around 35% larger than its predecessor, while reducing the watch’s thickness to 10.7mm.
Like the Watch 9, the Ultra 2 is powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform and includes Samsung’s upgraded BioActive Sensor. Additional features include GPS trail navigation, hydration tracking, advanced running metrics and support for a diving app that will roll out later through Samsung’s partnership with Mares.
AI and health features
Both smartwatches integrate Samsung’s latest AI-powered health tools through Samsung Health. The watches provide personalised wellness insights, continuous heart monitoring, sleep analysis, workout tracking and preventive health recommendations. Gemini AI also enables contextual voice assistance directly from the wrist.

Availability
Samsung has opened pre-orders for both smartwatches in India through its official website and authorised retail partners. Sales are expected to begin in the coming weeks following the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 launch.
