Samsung Launch 2026: ‘Ultra’ foldable phone launched for the first time, Watch 9 also launched with cool features; know the price

9Samsung launched the 8th generation of its foldable smartphones in India on Wednesday (July 22, 2026). This new lineup includes Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8. The special thing is that for the first time the company has introduced ‘Ultra’ model in its foldable portfolio. Along with this, the tech giant has also launched Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Watch 9 in the market.

All these Galaxy Z8 series phones work on One UI 9 based on Android 17. Samsung has promised to provide 7 years of OS updates and 7 years of security updates with them. The company says that Indian users are using foldable devices the most for watching content, taking advantage of AI and photography-video making. Making a big change on the design front, this time Samsung has used flex titanium plate in foldable phones.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: Ultra avatar for the first time

Display: It has an 8-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main screen, which comes with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 3,000 nits peak brightness. There is a 6.5 inch FHD+ cover display on the outside.
Design and weight: This phone is only 4.1 mm thin when unfolded and 8.9 mm thin when folded. Its weight is 215 grams.
Security and Strength: The front cover has the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 and the back has the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. This phone is IP48 water and dust resistant.
Processor and Battery: It has Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The phone has a 5,000 mAh battery, which supports 45W wired and 20W wireless charging.
Camera: The rear has a 200MP primary camera, 50MP ultra-wide and 10MP telephoto lens. For selfies, 10MP-10MP cameras are available on both the cover and main screen.

Galaxy Z Fold 8: New style of passport style

Display: It has a 7.6 inch QXGA+ main display and 5.5 inch FHD+ cover display. Both screens support 120Hz refresh rate and 3,000 nits brightness.
Design and weight: The weight of this passport style phone is 201 grams. It is 4.5mm thick in the unfolded state and 9.7mm thick when folded.
Security and Strength: It also has Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 on the cover and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back. Also IP48 rating is available.
Processor and Battery: The phone is equipped with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It has a 4,800 mAh battery, which supports 45W wired and 20W wireless charging.
Camera: It has a 50MP main camera at the back and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. 10MP (cover) and 10MP (main screen) cameras are provided in the front.

Galaxy Z Flip 8: compact and stylish

Display: 6.9 inch FHD+ display (120Hz) on the inside and 4.1 inch HD+ Super AMOLED cover screen (60-120Hz) on the outside.
Design and weight: The weight of this phone is only 180 grams. When unfolded it becomes 6.1mm and when folded it becomes 13.1mm.
Security and strength: Gorilla Glass Victus 2 has been used on the cover screen and glass fiber-reinforced polymer has been used on the back panel. It comes with IP48 rating.
Processor and Battery: It has Exynos 2600 processor. With a 4,300 mAh battery, support for 25W wired and 15W wireless charging is available.
Camera: It has 50MP primary and 12MP ultra-wide rear camera setup. A 10MP lens has been provided for selfie.

New smartwatches: Watch Ultra 2 and Watch 9

Galaxy Watch Ultra 2: Coming in 47mm dial size, this watch has a 1.52 inch Super AMOLED display, whose peak brightness goes up to 5,000 nits. It has 2GB RAM, 64GB storage and 800 mAh battery. It has got IP69K rating and 10ATM certification for water protection.
Galaxy Watch 9: This smartwatch will be available in 40mm and 44mm dial sizes. It has a 1.47 inch Super AMOLED AOD screen (3,000 nits brightness) and 445 mAh battery. It has IP68 rating and 5ATM certification.
Both watches run on Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite processor and work on Samsung’s One UI 9 Watch (Wear OS).
