After July, Samsung Messages will only work for emergency messages and will be removed from the Galaxy Store. After July 2026, the app will no longer be available for download in the Galaxy Store. - Open or install the Google Messages app.
- Tap the “Set Default SMS App” option in the app and select Google Messages.
- Android 12 or 13 users will need to remove Samsung Messages from their dock and drag and drop Google Messages there (manually).
