Samsung’s Next Foldables and Wearables Surface on FCC Database: Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Flip 8, Watch 9, and Watch Ultra 2 Cleared for Launch
Samsung’s next generation of foldable smartphones and smartwatches appears to be moving closer to launch. A new report suggests several upcoming Galaxy devices have surfaced in filings with the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC)a key regulatory step before commercial release. The listings include the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Watch 9 seriesand Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Their appearance comes ahead of Samsung’s rumoured Galaxy Unpacked event next monthalthough a few expected models have yet to appear in the database.
FCC model numbers confirmed
According to a report by Android Authority, various unreleased Samsung devices have recently been spotted in FCC certification listings in the US. The report says the model number SM-F776U corresponds to the Galaxy Z Flip 8while SM-F976U is believed to be the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultrawhich is expected to succeed the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Galaxy Z Flip 8 gets FCC certification with satellite support
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 (SM-F776U) has been certified by the FCC, taking an important step toward its official release. The phone supports NB-NTN B255which is a band used for satellite communication. This certification confirms the device has gone through RF testing and is ready for production and commercial launch in the US market.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra model variants spotted
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra carries the model number SM-F976along with several regional variants including SC-56G, SCG39, SM-F976C, SM-F976Qand SM-F976Z. Powering the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will likely be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The certification listing confirms Samsung’s third flagship foldable is moving toward launch.
Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2 pass regulatory certification
Samsung’s next wave of devices is moving closer to launch, as regulatory filings reveal that the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 have appeared in China’s 3C certification database with model numbers SM-L3550 and SM-L7150 respectively. The certifications confirm both smartwatches will support 10W charging at 5V/2Amatching the charging speeds of their predecessors and suggesting Samsung isn’t prioritizing faster charging improvements for this generation. Battery capacities will remain largely similar to the current generation.
Expected July 22 Galaxy Unpacked event
These regulatory certifications indicate that Samsung is steadily checking off final requirements before making these devices official. Reports suggest the Galaxy Watch 9, Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, Galaxy Z Fold 8, Wide Fold, and Flip 8 could all be unveiled at a rumored July 22 Galaxy Unpacked event.
