Samuk, India’s first real alien survival thriller, is not as friendly as Koi Mil Gaya in Akshay Kumar’s film

Bollywood’s ‘Khiladi’ Akshay Kumar is once again going to do something which has never happened before in the history of Indian cinema. Akshay Kumar’s new film ‘Samuk’ has been officially announced on 24 May 2026. With the announcement, this film has become the talk of the town from social media to cinematic corridors. It is being described as India’s first large-scale Sci-Fi Alien Survival Thriller film. This film is being directed by Kanishk Verma, while its production is being helmed by well-known producer Vipul Amritlal Shah. But the question arises that why is there so much buzz about ‘Samuk’ and how is it going to be different from the alien films made earlier in Bollywood? Let us know the 4 biggest reasons behind this: Why is Akshay Kumar’s ‘Samuk’ going to be special and different? 1. Apart from CGI and AI, ‘Practical Effects’ will be used. Nowadays, where most of the films are completely dependent on green screen and VFX, in ‘Samuk’ the makers are going to use Hollywood level production and practical effects. In this film, bypassing digital technologies like Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) and AI models, actual ‘handcrafted monsters’ (hand-crafted alien creatures) will be created. Practical approach will be adopted for most of the scenes, which will give the audience a very real and scary feeling on the screen. 2. No family drama or love story twist: Till now in India, ’emotional and family twist’ has been seen in the films made on aliens, the biggest example of which is Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Koi Mil Gaya’. But to keep the atmosphere light in ‘Samuk’, there will be no unnecessary love stories, songs or comedy. The makers will present this film as a direct and brutal battle of ‘Man vs Aliens’, keeping it completely intense and serious. ‘Samuk’ vs Old Indian Alien Movies 3. Serious Science and Goosebumps Horror Till now, aliens have been shown as friends of humans in Indian cinema, like Aamir Khan in ‘PK’ or Jadoo in ‘Koi Mil Gaya’. Till now, no Indian film has shown the brutal attack of aliens on Earth and their bloody war with humans. ‘Samuk’ will be a serious thriller based on astronomy and advanced technology, in which the audience will experience a lot of horror and fear along with thrill. 4. Deadly combo of Akshay Kumar and the action director of ‘Mission Impossible’. Hollywood’s famous British stunt coordinator Luke Tamber has been hired to take the action scenes of the film to the next level. Luke Tumber is the same action director who choreographed the mind-blowing stunts of Tom Cruise’s cult action film ‘Mission Impossible’. Luke has a great knack for designing real-life military action sequences. Since Akshay Kumar himself comes from a martial arts background, the duo is all set to create a storm of hyper-physical and real-life action on screen without any VFX.
