Sanchita Ugale’s friend alleges harassment by co-star Ujwal Sharma
A day after television Indian actress Sanchita Ugale was found dead at her home in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, fresh claims emerged from one of her close friends regarding her experiences while working on a television show.
Sanchita, known for her role in Kumkum Bhagyawas reportedly found dead at her residence in Nalasopara on June 14. She was 22.
As questions surrounding her death continued, actress Indraxi Kanjilal spoke about Sanchita’s professional life and alleged difficulties she had faced during her time on the show Saajan Ghar.
Speaking to TellyChakkar, Indraxi claimed that co-star Ujwal Sharma had borrowed money from Sanchita and later behaved badly when she asked for it back.
“Ujjwal had apparently borrowed money from Sanchita and later behaved rudely with her. When she asked him to return the money, he lashed out, humiliated her, and even threatened to hit her,” she said.
Indraxi further stated that she had screenshots of conversations that, according to her, showed inappropriate language and insults directed at Sanchita.
She also alleged that Sanchita had reported her concerns to people associated with the show. According to Indraxi, the actress had eventually decided to leave the project.
“Sanchita did complain about the harassment and everything she was going through to the concerned heads. However, she eventually realised that nothing was going to change, which is why she decided to walk away from the show,” she said.

Indraxi also responded to comments that linked Sanchita’s emotional condition to a previous relationship. She said she disagreed with those claims and questioned why attention was being placed on the actress’s personal life.
She said she had known Sanchita for a long time and maintained that the actress was not affected by a past relationship.
Meanwhile, the exact circumstances surrounding Sanchita’s death remained under investigation.
Following reports of her death, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) released a statement calling for a high-level investigation into the matter.
As of now, authorities have not announced any conclusions regarding the case.
