Summons issued to Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt

The song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri’ is considered to be one of the most controversial songs of recent times. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken strict action against all those associated with the song. The commission has summoned actresses Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt for offensive lyrics. The National Commission for Women has clearly stated that “the dignity of women cannot be compromised,” and the matter has now reached a critical juncture.

Also, the commission took cognizance on its own and held a hearing on April 6. Her lawyer appeared on behalf of Nora Fatehi, but the commission denied her permission to appear through a lawyer and directed the actress to appear herself. According to a PTI report, the National Commission for Women has now given a last chance to Nora Fatehi, asking her to appear in person on April 27, 2026.

This was revealed during the hearing

NCW president Vijaya Rahatkar presided over the hearing. He expressed deep concern over the song’s lyrics, saying it was not only offensive but also insulting to women. Rahatkar rejected the claim of those who claimed that he did not know the meaning of the lyrics. Such explanations, he said, would not detract from the impact of the song. Lyricist Rakib Alam, director Prem and representatives of KVN Productions were present during the hearing. He issued a written apology and acknowledged that the song had a negative impact on society. They took a pledge to work for women’s empowerment in the next three months and submitted a report to the NCW. The commission also directed Sanjay Dutt to appear on April 8.
