Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love And War’ misses Eid 2026 release window
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited film Love And War is turning into a long, slow build, despite its headline-making cast.
The film brings together Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal for the first time, a combination that had already raised expectations when the project was announced.
The film went on floors in November 2024 and was earlier planned for a December 2025 release, but that plan did not succeed. The makers later shifted the release to Eid 2026, but that timeline too has now slipped.
Sources say the shoot has been extended once again. According to an update, the 62-year-old filmmaker has pushed the schedule till May 2026.
A source told Bollywood Hungama“Ranbir, Alia and Vicky have blocked their calendars till May 2026 now. All their prior commitments stand delayed due to the increase in shoot days for Love And War.”
Earlier reports had suggested a June 2026 release, but that option is now off the table.
As one source put it, “There’s no way for Love & War to release in June. Bhansali is now making an attempt to bring it on the big screen in August or September 2026. A date will be decided shortly.”
The delay has also caused concern elsewhere. Members of the Ramayana team were hoping for a longer gap between the two films. The extended shoot has reportedly pushed up the budget as well.
The recent buzz suggests that the official release date, along with the first look of the three actors, will be announced in January.
