He wrote in a harsh tone that if he had been the chairman and commissioner of IPL even today, he would have immediately banned Goenka and taken away the ownership rights of the team from him forever. While demanding strict action from BCCI, Modi reminded that there is a strict clause against such behavior in the franchise agreement, which should be used. Seeing the growing controversy, LSG presented clarification, released the original video. Sensing the strong statement of Lalit Modi and the growing anger of the fans, Lucknow Super Giants management had to come forward for damage control.
