Sanju Samson Masterclass Powers CSK’s 8-Wicket Win Over Delhi Capitals

A clinical knock from Sanju Samson has set up Chennai Super Kings to post an 8-wicket victory against Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

He remained unbeaten with 87* runs, which included 7 fours and 6 sixes. By this win, CSK retain their 6th spot in the IPL 2026 Points table.

The duo forged a 65-run partnership for the 6th wicket before Jamie Overton bagged his first wicket dismissing Tristan Stubbs for 38 runs.

Ashutosh got dismissed and run out and with Sameer Rizvi and Mitchell Starc at crease, Delhi Capitals scored 155 runs in their 20 over innings. Sameer Rizvi remained unbeaten 40* off 24 deliveries during the innings.

Chasing the 156 run target, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson opened the innings while Mitchell Starc opened the bowling attack.

Lungi Ngidi bagged the first wicket for Delhi Capitals dismissing Ruturaj Gaikwad for 6 runs. He got dismissed after flicking the ball in the air towards deep square leg and Sameer Rizvi took a easy catch.

With Sanju Samson and Urvil Patel at crease, CSK scored 44 runs in the powerplay. Urvil Patel got dismissed on a stumping as he moved forward to defend the ball and KL Rahul made a lightning fast stumps as the youngster walked back to dug out for 17 runs.

kartik Sharma joined Sanju Samson as the duo played a composed knock aiming to complete the chase.

In the meantime, Sanju Samson made a stunning 32-ball fifty and went on aggressive mode while playing along with Kartik Sharma.

The duo set up CSK’s 8-wicket victory as Sanju Samson scored 87* while Kartik Sharma remained unbeaten with 41 runs.
