Artistes performing Carnatic melodies at the 10th edition of Sankeertanotsav.
Hyderabad: Sankeertanotsav, a festive celebration of Carnatic Music, growing and glowing year after year with greater grandeur had completed its 10th year.
Started with an aim to propogate Carnatic music and all the streams loosely based on this genre, this festival has touched the streams of vocal concerts, instrumental concerts, Hindustani music concerts, abhang sankeertans, harikathas & namasankeertana.
This year’s Sankeertanotsav, was a 16-day event featuring several young musicians along with many senior and legendary exponents of the art form. As a prelude to the main festival, proceedings were added under ‘Yuva Sankeertanotsav’ to promote young Carnatic musicians.
Every day, before the main concert, there were group singing and short duration concerts presented by students of Swara Bhangima, Swara Laya & Swara Bharathi.
The entire event was oraganised by Sampradaya in association with Sujanaranjani, Tumburu Music Academy, media support and production association by Hopead Pvt. Ltd. The Directors of Hopead T V, K S Rao and K Suneetha, reviewed the festival’s proceedings.
