Mumbai: The official announcement of the much -awaited sequel of Dhilluku Dhuddu franchise, which is DD Next Level, was made on Tuesday, with the birthday of Chief actor Santhanam. Written and directed by S Prem Anand, who directed the successful DD Returns in 2023, the film is set for a dramatic release in May 2025. Jointly built by Arya and Niharika Entertainment, the DD Next Level has a contingent of many star-stored artists including Selwaraghavan, Gautam Vasudev Menon, Geetika, Yashika Anand, Maran, Nizalgal Ravi, Kasturi Shankar and Rajendran.

The first-look poster features an fearless and casual Santhanam using a crutch made of bones, which has a dangerous background of Gautam Menon, Selwaraghavan and others. The film has a mixture of humor and adventure, which is true to the legacy of its predecessors. Director Prem Anand shared his excitement about the project, saying, “DD Returns was a great success with a great response from the audience of all age groups. We worked on the script of the sequel for more than a year to ensure that it matched with high expectations. The story begins on a cruise ship and appears on an island, with large sets built on a grand scale.
The film will be more cheerful and thrilling than its predecessor, which will attract fans of all ages. ” Dhilluku Dhuddu franchise, which began in 2016 with Dhilluku Dhuddu of Rambhla and continued in 2019 with its sequel Dhilluku Dhuddu 2, confirmed its place as a successful horror-comedy series. The Standalone Sequel, directed by Prem Anand, further enhanced the franchise's appeal, which was a box office hit in 2023.
