Sarfaraz Khan Becomes Father Of A Baby Boy, Pictures Of Him With Newborn Goes Viral

Star Indian batter Sarfaraz Khan, who made his Test debut against England in Rajkot on February 15, 2024, and scored 150 runs in the second inning of the recently concluded first Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru, was blessed with a baby boy on Monday (October 21). The 27-year-old cricketer who tied the knot last year took to Instagram to share a couple of pictures of him with the newborn, and within no time it went viral on the internet.

Sarfaraz, who has amassed a total of 350 runs in four Tests played so far for Team India, is celebrating his 27th birthday on Tuesday (October 22), and a day before his special day he received the good news of becoming father for the first time.

The right-handed batter played in the Bengaluru Test for India after Shubman Gill was ruled out due to fitness-related issues. The former Delhi Capitals and RCB star failed to open his account in the first inning, but he justified his selection by scoring his maiden Test century in the second.

He added 177 runs for the fourth wicket with Rishabh Pant (99) to help India cross the 400-run mark on Day 4 of the match and avoid an inning defeat.

But despite his good show with the bat, Sarfaraz is not a confirmed selection in India’s playing XI for the second Test against New Zealand, which is set to start on Thursday (October 24) in Pune. If Gill attains full fitness and returns to the playing XI,, then one out of KL Rahul or him has to make way for the 25-year-old right-handed batter.

KL is in firing line after his scores of 0 and 12 runs in the Bengaluru Test, but according to some former greats and experts of the game, Team India won’t drop the Bengaluru-based batter after one flop show.

It is also a possibility that both KL and Sarfaraz will lose place in the playing XI if Rishabh Pant plays only as a specialist batter in the second Test. In such a scenario, Dhurv Jurel will be included in the side as wicketkeeper.
