These players including Sarfaraz will be released before the second test against Bangladesh, know the reason

New Delhi: A test series is being played between India and Bangladesh. The first match of this series was played in Chennai, where India won by 280 runs. Now the Indian team has reached Kanpur for the second test. The Indian team for the second test has also been announced. But now middle order batsman Sarfaraz Khan, wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel and fast bowler Yash Dayal are likely to be released from the Indian team for the Irani Cup.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced the Rest of India squad led by Ruturaj Gaikwad for the Irani Cup to be played against Ranji champions Mumbai in Lucknow from October 1 to 5. According to a release from the BCCI, “Dhruv Jurel and Yash Dayal have been selected in the Rest of India squad but their participation in the Irani Cup is dependent on their not participating in the second Test match against Bangladesh in Kanpur.”

According to sources in the Indian team, if Rishabh Pant gets injured in this match, then Lokesh Rahul can play the role of wicketkeeper in his place. In such a situation, releasing Jurel would not be risky. If Sarfaraz does not get a place in the Indian XI, then he can also be released from the national team for the Irani Cup. He can be a part of the Mumbai team led by Ajinkya Rahane.

BCCI said, “Sarfaraz Khan has been retained in the Indian team for the second Test. If he does not form part of the playing eleven for the second Test match against Bangladesh in Kanpur, he will be released to represent the Mumbai team.”

After recovering from surgery, all-rounder Shardul Thakur will return to first-class cricket from this match. In this match, Mumbai team is almost certain to get the services of all the top players including Shreyas Iyer, Mushir Khan, Shams Mulani and Tanush Kotian. Indian T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dubey will not be a part of this match as both these players have to reach Guwahati on October 3 for the T20 series against Bangladesh starting October 6.

Rest of India squad: Ruturaj Gaikwad (Captain), Abhimanyu Easwaran (Vice-Captain), Sai Sudarshan, Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel (Wicketkeeper), Ishan Kishan (Wicketkeeper), Manav Suthar, Saransh Jain, Prasidh Krishna, Mukesh Kumar, Yash Dayal, Ricky Bhui, Shashwat Rawat, Khaleel Ahmed, Rahul Chahar.
