As per a report in Times of India Sarfaraz Khan’s brother Musheer Khan who is also a cricketer sustained injuries following a road accident in Uttar Pradesh. Further in the report, injuries are also detailed, which reveal that the Mumbai player suffered a fracture in a road rage, as he was being driven by his father and coach, Naushad Khan, from Kanpur to Lucknow for an Irani Cup match. Musheer is a promising young talent, having recently made 181 runs during Duleep Trophy contest for India C against India A that included players right from Shubman Gill, Mayank Agarwal, Avesh Khan, Kuldeep Yadav, Akash Deep and Khaleel Ahmed. So far, Musher has featured in nine first-class matches.

Musheer’s accident means that the 19-year old will now not be able to participate in Mumbai’s Irani Cup fixture against Rest of India at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, taking place from October 1-5, or the opening phase of the Ranji Trophy, which commences from October 11.

“He didn’t go with the Mumbai team to Lucknow for the Irani Cup. He must have been travelling from Azamgarh, along with his father, to Lucknow when the accident took place,” the report shed light on a source.

The selection of the India A team for the Tour of Australia will consider the Duleep Trophy and the Irani Cup match between the Mumbai Ranji champions and Rest of India which will come just before the tour period ,Although it’s possible a few Test specialists and fast bowlers may be deployed in advance, there are two names that can be said to be almost confirmed and that is Musheer and left-handed spinner from Rajasthan Manav Suthar who has come ahead of the left arm orthodox Saurabh Kumar to become the best spinner after Ravindra Jadeja and Axar.
