Bihar News: The day of 15 April 2026 brought a big change in the politics of Bihar, when Samrat Chaudhary took oath as the Chief Minister of the state. Now it has been more than a month since his tenure. In this short time of one month, the government has made its priorities clear. As soon as Samrat Chaudhary assumed power, he took rapid decisions to accelerate development work, strengthen the education system, increase the safety of women and improve law and order. The government is trying to make the public see the impact of governance on the ground.

Cities expansion and satellite townships

The government has prepared a very ambitious plan to reduce the increasing pressure in the big cities of Bihar. Under this, 11 satellite townships will be developed in 10 districts of Bihar. These new cities will be settled in a completely modern and planned manner. These will include wide roads, big markets, parks, schools and greenery areas. The main objective of this scheme is to provide modern facilities like metros to the people in their own areas, so that migration towards big cities can be reduced.

Police didi for women’s safety

To strengthen the security of women and girl students in the state, the government has started the Police Didi Scheme. Under this scheme, women policemen are being specially deployed. The government is going to buy 1,500 new scooters for them. These women policemen will continuously patrol around schools, colleges and coaching centers so that incidents of teasing and harassment of girls can be completely stopped. This will strengthen the sense of security among girl students.

Immediate resolution of public complaints

To ensure that the general public does not have to visit offices for their minor problems, a new system called Triveni of Sahyog has been started. This system has three main parts, which include helpline number 1100, cooperation portal and grievance redressal camps organized at the Panchayat level. The government has made it clear that any complaint related to the block office, police station and revenue office will have to be resolved within 30 days in any case. If any officer is negligent in this, strict action will be taken against him.

Major reforms and budget in the education system

The Chief Minister has opened a big treasury to improve the field of education. Rs 800 crore has been sanctioned to develop all the district schools of the state and one higher secondary school in every block as model schools. Along with this, new degree colleges will be opened in those 208 blocks of Bihar where till now there was not even a single college. With this, children from rural areas will not have to go far for higher education.

Control on the arbitrariness of private schools

The government has announced strict rules to stop the arbitrariness done by private schools. Now all private schools will have to make the complete information about their fees public and they will not be able to increase the fees as per their wish. Apart from this, parents will now be completely free to buy books and uniforms from any shop, schools will not be able to put pressure on them. The biggest relief given is that no school will be able to stop any student from appearing in the examination on the basis of outstanding fees.

Local employment and digital services

The rules have been changed to provide employment to the contractors and local youth of Bihar. Now priority will be given to local contractors of Bihar in government construction works up to Rs 50 crore. With this, the state’s money will remain in the state and new jobs will be created. Along with this, paperless e-registration system has been started to simplify the registration of land and property. In this system, elderly people above 80 years of age will get the facility of registry sitting at home.

Zero tolerance on corruption and the way forward

Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has clearly instructed the police and administration that no laxity will be tolerated in cases of serious crimes and corruption. Zero tolerance policy is being adopted against criminals. However, implementing all these populist and policy announcements on the ground will be a big challenge for the government. In the coming times, it will be important to see how fast the administration implements these decisions and how much it lives up to the expectations of the public.
