Saudi Arabia AI Tourism: Big decision of Saudi Arabia, now AI will change the face of tourism, new digital tools launched
Saudi Arabia has launched ‘AI Tourism Vision’ to completely modernize its tourism sector. Launched on June 28, 2026, the objective of this mission is to improve the tourist experience and simplify the way of running business through Artificial Intelligence (AI). With this initiative, Saudi Arabia will emerge as a major center of smart tourism in the world.
TourismX and new digital tools
Under this vision, a global digital platform named TourismX has been launched. Its beta version has been started in which many AI tools have been provided for business owners and professionals. These include AI for designing hotel interiors, MenuCraft AI for creating menus and special AI assistants to help tour guides. Apart from this, the Saudi government has also launched Saudi MTApp, through which investors, business owners and tour guides will be able to easily avail government services.
Government Goals and Vision 2030
Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb said that just as infrastructure had changed the economy in old times, now AI will change the methods of tourism. This entire plan is based on the ‘Riyadh Declaration’ which was adopted in the UN Tourism meeting on 11 November 2025. The Saudi government aims to have 150 million tourists visit the country annually by 2030, including 80 million domestic and 70 million international tourists.
SARA and new facilities for tourists
To help tourists, Saudi Tourism Authority has created a smart AI guide named SARA. This guide will help in guiding the tourists about the places as per their choice and providing real time help. Additionally, the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) and the Ministry of Tourism have jointly signed an agreement to create an ‘AI Center of Excellence’ to further enhance the quality of tourism.
Impact of AI in other areas
This impact of AI will not be limited to hotels only. Riyadh Air, the new national airline scheduled to launch in 2025, will also use advanced cloud computing and AI technology to improve its operations and customer service. The government is now focusing on investing in AI infrastructure and companies that can ease booking and destination management.
