Saudi Arabia: Crown Prince spoke to Pakistan’s PM, welcomed the US-Iran agreement, Pakistan’s role in mediation was important

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke on phone with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. During this call, the Crown Prince welcomed the agreement between America and Iran. Due to the efforts of Pakistan, an agreement has been reached between the two countries to end the military operation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has named this agreement “Islamabad Memorandum” and described it as a historic achievement. Under this deal, now military operations on all fronts including Lebanon will be stopped immediately and forever. US President Donald Trump has also confirmed this deal and has ordered to open the Strait of Hormuz and lift the US Navy blockade.

Role of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan

Saudi Arabia had already endorsed the agreement through its Foreign Ministry and Cabinet on June 15 and 16. Prime Minister Sharif praised Saudi Arabia’s support for this success and called it a diplomatic victory. The Crown Prince praised the efforts of Pakistan and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in taking this peace process forward.

  • Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi thanked Pakistan for its efforts.
  • Talks also took place between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Pakistani PM, in which implementation of the deal was discussed.
  • The date of signing of this peace agreement was fixed as June 19, 2026, but it was delayed due to some difficulties in the visit of US Vice President JD Vance to Switzerland.

This agreement will also impact the common people in the times to come. It is believed that this will lead to a fall in oil prices worldwide, which will benefit the economy. Now the focus of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan is on how the next talks between America and Iran should proceed and this peace process should not be harmed.
