Sawan 2026: in Sanatan Dharma month of savan (shravan) Worship of Lord Shiva is considered most sacred and auspicious. Throughout this month, Shiva devotees do special worship of Bholenath, Jalabhishek, Rudrabhishek and fast. On this day, by worshiping Shiva according to the rituals, one gets special blessings of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. It is believed that observing fast on Sawan Monday brings happiness and peace in married life, unmarried people get blessings of getting a suitable life partner and their wishes are fulfilled.
From astrological point of view also, Saavan Monday has been said to have special significance. It is said that if the Moon is weak in a person’s horoscope, then worshiping Lord Shiva, Rudrabhishek and fasting on Monday in Sawan strengthens the Moon and reduces mental stress, instability and negativity.
Importance of Kanwar Yatra in Sawan
The month of Sawan is also related to Kanwar Yatra. During this period, lakhs of Shiva devotees travel on foot carrying Ganga water from Haridwar, Gangotri and other holy places to reach Shiva temples. Devotees anoint Lord Shiva with Ganga water and pray for the fulfillment of their wishes. Many devotees also perform Kanwar Yatra as a mark of devotion when any of their wishes is fulfilled.
