At this time, nature also creates a beautiful and peaceful environment by decorating itself with greenery, which is very favorable for Shiva worship.
Important dates of Monday
It is believed that the devotees who keep fast in this month with a true heart, Lord Shiva fills their lives with happiness. Keeping fast on Monday of Sawan is also considered very fruitful, because it removes all the troubles of life and fulfills the wishes. In the year 2026, there are four Mondays in the month of Saavan. August 3, August 10, August 17, and August 24.
There will be a surge of faith in the pagodas
The month of Saavan is not limited to just fasting, rather it is a time when we get mental peace and positivity. Throughout this month, there is a rush of devotees in all the Shiva temples of India. After morning bath, people go to the temples and perform Jalabhishek of Mahadev and offer him their favorite things like milk, curd, Ganga water, Belpatra, Dhatura, and sandalwood. This is a time when people express their reverence and devotion and try to please Lord Shiva.
Fasting rules and satvik lifestyle
It is considered mandatory for devotees to follow some special rules during Sawan. During this entire month, one should completely give up Tamasic food (onion, garlic and non-vegetarian food) and adopt a Satvik lifestyle. During Monday fast, devotees remain fasting for the whole day or consume fruit (fruits and milk) after worship in the evening. To attain mental concentration and special blessings of Lord Shiva, continuous chanting of the Mahamantra ‘Om Namah Shivay’ during worship is the simplest and most effective way. Along with this, reciting Shiva Chalisa and performing Rudrabhishek in temples provides immense mental peace and spiritual strength to the devotees.
