Sayoni Ghosh became active again on Baruipur incident, returned to X after a month and raised demand for justice
Kolkata. After silence of about a month, Saayoni Ghosh has once again been seen active in public. For the first time since June 8, he reacted to the case of Murder of the 11-year-old girl child in Baruipur, South 24 Parganas by posting on his official X account. He strongly condemned the incident and expressed condolences to the victim’s family and demanded strict action against the culprits.
Sayoni Ghosh said in her message that this incident that happened with a minor girl in Surjapur area of Baruipur is very painful and inhuman. She said that she stands strongly with the victim’s family and will make every possible effort to get justice.
Claim of conversation with Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari
Ghosh said that he has discussed this matter with West Bengal Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari. According to him, the Chief Minister assured that the matter is being monitored at a personal level. He said that the process of arresting the accused is going on, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed and constant contact has been maintained with the victim’s family. The Chief Minister has assured that the culprits will not be spared at any cost and justice will be ensured soon.
Sayoni Ghosh said that being the MP of Baruipur, she will present this entire matter in writing before the Chief Minister. He said that providing all possible assistance to the victim’s family will be his priority.
Concern also expressed over mob violence
Ghosh also appealed to the people not to take the law into their own hands. He said that there can be no place for mobocracy under any circumstances. It is everyone’s responsibility to maintain law and order and strict action should be taken against incidents like mob lynching. She said that she is in constant touch with the Superintendent of Police of Baruipur and will continue efforts towards providing justice.

The body of an 11-year-old girl, who was missing from Baruipur area of South 24 Parganas district, was found inside a sack in Suryapur Haat area on Sunday. After this incident, huge anger spread in the area. Local people protesting on the Baruipur-Jaynagar road blocked the road, burnt tires and also damaged some police vehicles. The protesters demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
Meanwhile, a person was beaten to death by the mob on charges of rape and murder of a girl. Confirming this, Presidency Range Inspector General of Police Kankar Prasad Barui said that an angry mob killed a person believed to be accused of murder. Police have so far arrested four people in connection with the murder of the girl and investigation into the case is ongoing.
