SC angry over Dallewal's health report, says, “Remove this line”

New Delhi : A hearing was held in the Supreme Court today regarding the health of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is on hunger strike for 13 demands including guarantee of MSP on crops. Advocate General Gurminder Singh, appearing for the Punjab government, said that there have been many positive developments in the case.

What did the advocate tell the court

He told the court that the Central Government had sent its representatives on January 18. He has scheduled a meeting with the farmers on 14 February. After this, Dallewal and other farmers have also started taking medical help. His health has improved after medical assistance. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for the Punjab government, also told the court that Dallewal has been shifted to a temporary hospital set up near the protest site. After this Justice Kant said- We hope that Dallewal will take care of his health. As long as he is mentally strong, he will be able to fight for his interests.

what did the court say

The court said- Dallewal has agreed to participate in the talks to be held on February 14. We are also told that some other farmer leaders have also called off their fast and have agreed to resume talks. All stakeholders will be able to take action and address whatever issues are in the national interest.

In the end, Justice Kant got angry on the health report of Dallewal. He said- Remove the line in which it is said that Dallewal is out of danger. Just say that his condition has improved. In view of the current developments, the contempt proceedings have been postponed and the presence of officers has been made mandatory. The next hearing of the case will take place at the end of February.
