A very sad news is coming out from the entertainment world. Veteran and brilliant actor Ramakant Dayama, who left his indelible mark in many popular films and television serials, has passed away. He was seriously ill for the last several months. However, the exact reasons for his demise have not been officially revealed yet. Ramakant Dayma played many memorable roles in his career, but he got real recognition and immense popularity at the global level by playing the character of Harshad Mehta’s simple father in the superhit web series ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ (Scam 1992). Ramakant Dayama’s close friend and co-star Shubhangi Latkar has expressed deep grief over the demise. Shubhangi paid a tearful tribute to the late actor by sharing an old and very lively dance video of him on her social media handle.
Shubhangi wrote in her post:
“Today we have lost a very beautiful person. At this moment I have no words to express my grief. Ramakant Dayama was not only a dear co-star and family friend to me, but also a person whom I admired and respected from the bottom of my heart. No matter what big problem or illness came in his life, he was always smiling and knew how to enjoy life to the fullest.”
An excellent dancer, singer and a fine actor: many dreams remained unfulfilled
Recalling the actor’s versatile talent, Shubhangi Latkar further wrote that he was not only a great actor but also an excellent dancer and a heart-touching singer. He often played the role of a wise mentor for Shubhangi, whose words always contained a deep meaning of life.
Shubhangi told that even though he did not look very huge physically, mentally he was one of the strongest and courageous human beings. She said emotionally, “We all knew that he was very ill for the last several months, yet there was a hope in some corner of the heart that he would recover. We had many projects and plans, which now remain incomplete with his departure. After years, I really wanted to work with him in front of the camera again.”

Referring to the last moments and dreams she shared with him in her post, Shubhangi said that together they had decided to return to theater through a beautiful Hindi play. Apart from this, both of them had also prepared a complete plan to present selected and heart-touching poems together on the stage.
When Shubhangi requested him to start this project soon, Ramakant ji said with a smile in his last words, “Let me recover a little first.” Shubhangi wrote that some losses leave behind such a deep silence that it is impossible to express in words.
