Schedule Announced for Indian Women’s Cricket Team’s Upcoming Matches

It’s so satisfying when the cricket season hits a point where many exciting matches are ahead. India Women have two home series to prepare for in December and January. The Women in Blue recently faced New Zealand Women during their tour of India, where the home side won two of the three ODIs.

These upcoming home matches against West Indies and Ireland will follow from India Women’s tour of Australia at the start of December, including three ODIs. Fans will eagerly check the latest cricket predictions for all three matches and the newly scheduled home series.

It’ll be a tough test for the Women in Blue as they’ll be away from home, and their ICC Women’s World Cup T20 group stage loss to Australia will be fresh in their minds. The home matches against West Indies and Ireland will give the side more potential to shine.

Home Series Against West Indies

After returning from Australia, the team will start preparing for the home series against the West Indies. The BCCI announced the fixtures on November 13th, indicating that the initial action will occur at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

The first three fixtures are T20I matches. They’ll all take place in Navi Mumbai. Team India will face West Indies Women on 15th December, 17th December and 19th December. All the matches start at 7 pm, and you can expect them to be fast-paced and hotly contested. The Women in Blue recently faced and defeated West Indies Women in a warm-up match in Dubai for the T20 World Cup.

Three ODI matches will follow in Baroda. The teams will meet on 22nd December, 24th December, and 27th December, adding to the much-anticipated cricket action at this time of year. The first two matches begin at 1:30 pm, while the third starts at 9:30 am. The results of these ODIs count as part of the ICC Women’s Championship.

Home Series Against Ireland

India Women will have a short break in their schedule before the next home series. It’s a shorter fixtures list, as the Ireland Women’s tour of India will only include three ODI matches. This time, the sides will meet in Rajkot. The first match will take place on 10th January 2025, starting at 11 am.

The second match is on 12th January, and the third follows on 15th January. All three games will start at 11 am. The results of this home series are also part of the ICC Women’s Championship. As the hosts of the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup, India aren’t worried about qualifying, but finishing in the top three in the Championship table is in their sights.

The Women in Blue have won every single ODI against Ireland, dating back to 1993. They haven’t faced the side since 2017, but this track record will give them confidence in the upcoming home series.

Anticipation for More Cricket

These fixtures will round out the year for India Women, but there’s so much more to come in 2025. With the recently announced WPL 2025 retention, all eyes will be on the top franchises. It means the mini-auction will soon arrive, followed by the start of the WPL season, which is expected to happen at the end of February.

Cricket fans will also be looking forward to the end of the ICC World Championship and the Women’s Cricket World Cup, both of which will happen in 2025. The last time India hosted was in 2013, and it’s fair to say women’s cricket has transformed since then.
