Scott Mescudi joins the cast of Happy Gilmore 2
Actor Scott Mescudi, who recently starred in M Night Shyamalan’s Trap, is the latest to join the cast of Netflix‘s Happy Gilmore 2starring Adam Sandler. Details of his role and the plot have not been revealed yet. The film reunites Sandler with his Murder Mystery director Newacheck.
Christopher McDonald and Julie Bowen are also returning for the sequel as Happy’s nemesis Shoot McGavin and love interest Virginia Venit, respectively. Bad Bunny had also recently joined the cast.
Besides teasing a cameo from footballer Travis Kelce, Sandler said in a recent interview that director and screenwriter Benny Safdie also plays a key role in Happy Gilmore 2. The film reunites Safdie with his Uncut Gems co-star Sandler. Besides acting in the film, Sandler serves as its cowriter alongside Tim Herlihy.
Sandler and Tim Herlihy will be producing alongside Jack Giarraputo and Robert Simonds. The original film’s director, Dennis Dugan, is exec producing alongside Judit Maull, Kevin Grady, David Bausch and Barry Bernardi.
The 1996 film Happy Gilmoredirected by Dennis Dugan, stars Adam Sandler in the titular role. It tells the story of an unsuccessful ice hockey player who discovers a newfound talent for golf and partakes in a golf tournament to save his grandmother’s home from foreclosure.
