Quarterback Sam Darnold’s announcement following the Seattle Seahawks victory on Wednesday, February 11, sent the excitement into overdrive.
When the entire city was buzzing with celebrations of a dominant 29-13 win over the New England Patriots, Darnold revealed some surprising news on “mic’d up” that left fans electrified.
Amid the roar of the crowd, Darnold was heard confirming the news of his marriage to fiancée Katie Hoofnagle next month.
While speaking at the parade stage, Darnold reflected on his journey from being called a “bust” to the reigning champion.
The emotional athlete told the crowd that “a lot of people didn’t believe in me but it didn’t matter because the ones that are close believed in me, including y’all. I appreciate y’all so much.”
Last but not least, he also thanked the Seahawks’ leadership for having faith in his abilities. “I wouldn’t be here without these guys.”
