Secret revealed after 34 years: Why was Saif Ali Khan removed from ‘Bekhudi’? Director Rahul Rawail told the real reason!
New Delhi. In the early 1990s, when Saif Ali Khan was preparing to enter films, his first film was going to be Bekhudi. This film was being directed by Rahul Rawail and new actress Kajol was going to be seen with him in it. The shooting had already started, the shooting of the Muhurat scene and one song had also been completed. But suddenly Saif was dropped from the film and Kamal Sadanah was replaced in his place. This decision became a topic of much discussion at that time and for a long time there was various speculations about the reason behind it.
For years it was said that Saif was asked to choose between his girlfriend and the film. However, after 34 years, Rahul Rawail has completely rejected these claims. In an interview he clearly said that the girlfriend thing is wrong. According to him, the real problem was regarding Saif’s professional commitment. Rawail said that at that time Saif often did not reach the shooting on time and was not serious about the work, due to which the pressure on the production was increasing. He also admitted that Saif has changed tremendously with time and today he is a very professional actor.
Interestingly, Saif Ali Khan had also mentioned his struggle in an old interview and said that he was fired from his first film. However, he had cited the condition laid down by the director at that time, which deepened the controversy. But being out of ‘Bekhudi’ did not become the end of his career. The very next year, she made her official Bollywood debut with Yash Chopra’s film Parampara, which featured veteran actors like Sunil Dutt, Vinod Khanna and Aamir Khan.
Today Saif Ali Khan is counted among the established stars of the industry, but his early journey shows that there are stumbles before success. Rahul Rawail also said in a recent conversation that he wants to direct again, but he has not been offered any big project for a long time. This entire incident has once again proved that behind the glitter of Bollywood lies a long story of struggles, misunderstandings and truths that have changed with time.
