Security forces got a big success in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, 2 terrorists killed in joint operation…two AK-47s also recovered.
Kishtwar: On Sunday, security forces achieved a major success in the anti-terrorism operation in the remote and rugged areas of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. Two dreaded terrorists belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammed were killed in a fierce encounter in Paserkut area of Chatru belt. This joint operation of Army, Police and CRPF ‘Operation Trashi-I’ has dealt a severe blow to the terrorist network operating from across the border. Both the killed terrorists are said to be Pakistani citizens originally.
Police and IB had received concrete information
Let us tell you that Jammu and Kashmir Police and Intelligence Bureau (IB) had received concrete information about the presence of terrorists in this inaccessible area of Kishtwar. Based on this credible input, the Army’s White Knight Corps and Counter-Intelligence Force (CIF) Delta, along with local police and CRPF, launched a well-planned siege. The main objective of the security forces was to track and eliminate these foreign elements active in the area so that the peace and security of the area is maintained under all circumstances.
Terrorists were hiding in a mud house
The geographical conditions of the encounter site were quite difficult. These terrorists were hiding with full preparation inside a mud house situated at the foothills of the hills. As soon as the search party of the security forces reached near that house, the terrorists took advantage of the height and started firing indiscriminately. The army soldiers also took immediate retaliatory action, displaying strategic precision and unwavering courage. After a few hours of fierce firing, both the attackers were successfully killed.
Huge cache of weapons recovered
After the encounter ended, when the entire area was searched, two AK-47 rifles and a large amount of ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists. While sharing information on social media, the Army said that these terrorists were planning to carry out some major violent conspiracy. It is clear from the recovered weapons that they had come prepared to stay in the forest for a long time. The security forces have given a clear message that those who disturb the peace will no longer find shelter anywhere.
Jaish-e-Mohammed suffered a big blow
The killed terrorists have been identified as active members of the banned Pakistani organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). According to official figures, so far this year, a total of six Jaish terrorists have been killed by security forces in various districts of Jammu region. Earlier, similar successful encounters had taken place in Udhampur and Kathua districts also. This action on Sunday has completely destroyed the communication and morale between the terrorist cells operating in the valley and their foreign masters.
Intensive search operation in Chatru belt
In the last few months, there have been more than half a dozen face-offs between security forces and terrorists in the Chatru forest area. An Indian soldier was martyred in an encounter last month, after which the army has significantly increased its intelligence vigil here. At present, a large-scale search operation is still going on in Paserkut and its surrounding forests. Security agencies are ensuring that no other terrorist or his helper remains hidden in the area.
