Security increased at Union Minister Jayant Choudhary’s residence after Mohammad Ismail’s threat ‘I will shoot…’

Tezzbuzz Desk- Security agencies have become alert after Union Minister and National President of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) Jayant Chaudhary received death threats. The threat was sent to his PA Vishvendra Shah on March 18 through phone and WhatsApp. After this incident the security of the minister has been increased.

According to the information, the person making the threat has been identified as ‘Ismail’, a resident of Murshidabad, West Bengal. He claimed in his call that he also had a copy of the official tour plan of Jayant Chaudhary. Also, it is being said that the person making the threat had also conducted recce of the Union Minister’s house for 2-3 days.

A complaint has been lodged in the Tughlaq Road police station of Delhi and Delhi Police has started investigating the matter. Police said that the threatening call had come from an Indian number. Meanwhile, security has been tightened around Jayant Chaudhary’s residence and office.

Jayant Choudhary currently serves as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State in the Ministry of Education in the Government of India. Apart from this, he is also a member of Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh.

Police and concerned agencies are investigating to find out the identity of the person making the threat and the motive for his action. The Union Minister has also requested the authorities to increase security. The incident has heightened vigilance in the political and security settings, as the minister is an influential leader as well as involved in many sensitive government functions.
