Selena Gomez recently opened up about her family planning with her husband on the second episode of the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, hosted by music producer Benny Blanco and his friend Lil Dicky (real name Dave Byrd).
Selena Gomez reveals her desire to have four children of her own
Speaking to Lil Dicky and his wife Kristin Bataluco, who are split on how many kids they want, with her husband wanting a maximum of two and she wanting three, the Can’t Keep My Hands to Myself singer revealed she has even bigger plans, “I want four, but it’s still in the air.” Explaining how she arrived at this number after watching a scene with Diane Keaton in The Family Stone, she added, “I want to be on my dinner table one day, when I’m their age.” While watching the scene, Singer was reminded of his grandmother and how the entire film was ‘sweet and heart-touching’, but also ‘sad’.
She knows her hopes will ultimately turn out to be just a wish, “Whatever will be, will be. If we have just one kid, then no one else. I hope… we don’t know. But my dream was definitely that scene where they’re all at the dinner table and they’re just with their partners or their significant others or kids or single and it’s just such a beautiful cast of characters.” And she also joked that it will be “crazy hell” until her kids are grown.
Both have repeatedly expressed their desire to have children one day, with Benny Blanco saying that he is very happy to be an uncle and would like to share this experience as a father too. Meanwhile, the two got married on September 27, 2025, in a ceremony attended by Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson, Paul Rudd, and her ‘Only Murders in the Building’ co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short.
