The death of 48-year-old Vinod Kumar Mishra, son of Shanti Prasad Mishra, in Gram Panchayat Deoria Kala of Khargupur police station area, allegedly due to consumption of poisonous substance, has created a sensation in the entire area. The matter has become even more serious due to an alleged suicide note that came to light after the incident. Sunil Kumar, son of the deceased, said that his father was troubled by land dispute and alleged mental harassment for a long time. He alleges that even though he had no real dispute, he was threatened with being implicated in false cases, booked under serious sections and sent to jail. Sunil Kumar says his family was allegedly repeatedly harassed in fake cases and no impartial action was taken on his complaints.

Sunil Kumar said, “We will not perform the last rites of our father until a fair investigation is conducted against all the accused named in the alleged suicide note and they are arrested and sent to jail. We only want fair investigation and justice.”
