Sensational case of child rape in Gorakhpur, Sikriganj police arrested the accused within 24 hours.

Gorakhpur. District Gorakhpur Police, taking quick and effective action in a case of heinous crime like child sexual abuse, has arrested the accused and sent him to jail. On the information of an informer, the police arrested the wanted accused in the case of child rape registered in Sikriganj police station area.

Under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Gorakhpur Shri Rajkaran Nayyar (LPS), Superintendent of Police South Shri Dinesh Kumar Puri (PPS) and Area Officer Khajni Shri Kamlesh Singh (PPS), a special operation is being conducted to arrest the wanted accused. In this sequence, Sikriganj police station got this success.

Under the leadership of Police Station Head Ashish Kumar Tiwari, the team of Sub Inspector Ajit Pratap Singh, Constable Sandeep Kumar and Constable Dinesh Kumar was on patrol in search of the accused on January 15, 2026. Meanwhile, information was received from the informer that Shubham Yadav, the accused wanted in the case of child rape, was present near Belghat turn outside Dadihath village and was trying to escape somewhere. Acting immediately on the information, the police team reached the spot and arrested the accused.

The arrested accused has been identified as Shubham Yadav, son of Ashok Yadav, resident of village Dadihath, police station Sikriganj, district Gorakhpur, age about 20 years. FIR No. 11/2026 Section 115(2)/137(2) BNS against the accused at Sikriganj police station. And the case is registered under 5(m)/6 POCSO Act.

According to the police, in the report lodged by the plaintiff Sandeep Sharma, son of late Parmeshwar Sharma, it is alleged that on January 14, 2026, at around 11 pm, the accused took his minor son to his shed and raped him. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the police showed promptness and arrested the accused the very next day.

After the arrest, the accused was presented before the Honorable Court after completing the necessary legal proceedings, from where he was sent to jail on the orders of the court. Information about other criminal history of the accused is being collected. At present no recovery has been made from the accused.

The activeness and sensitivity of Sikriganj police station in this action is being appreciated. Police officials have clarified that there will be no negligence in crimes against children and strictest action will be taken against the culprits.
