Sensex rises 185 points, Nifty ends higher today, April 2: HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consumer Products among top gainers

Indian equity benchmarks ended a volatile session on April 2 with marginal gains, as the Nifty 50 closed above the 22,700 mark.

The BSE Sensex rose 185.23 points, or 0.25%, to settle at 73,319.55, while the Nifty 50 gained 33.70 points, or 0.15%, ending at 22,713.10.

Despite intraday fluctuations, select stocks managed to close higher, with IT and financial names contributing to the upside.

Top Gainers (April 2)

Among the top performers on the Nifty 50 were:

HCL Technologies closed at ₹1395.0, up 3.0%.

Tech Mahindra ended at ₹1439.0, gaining 2.5%.

Tata Consumer Products finished at ₹1044.9, higher by 2.1%.

Wipro settled at ₹194.8, up 1.9%.

Infosys closed at ₹1297.5, advancing 1.7%.

Hindalco Industries ended at ₹920.0, rising 1.7%.

Tata Consultancy Services finished at ₹2445.7, up 1.6%.

Bajaj Finance closed at ₹828.9, gaining 1.4%.

HDFC Bank ended at ₹751.0, higher by 1.2%.

Nestlé India settled at ₹1190.0, up 0.8%.

The session remained range-bound overall, with gains in select heavyweights offsetting broader market volatility.
