Serene Productions will buy 50% stake in Karan Johar's Dharma Productions

��New DelhiNew Delhi: Vaccine maker Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla-led Serene Productions on Monday said it will buy 50 per cent stake in Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Dharmatic Entertainment for Rs 1,000 crore. Serene Productions has entered into a binding agreement to invest Rs 1,000 crore in production houses Dharma Productions and Dharmatic Entertainment (Dharma), the company said in a statement. Following this, Serene Productions will hold 50 percent stake in Dharma, while Johar will retain the remaining 50 percent ownership. “Poonawalla's investment values ​​Dharma at Rs 2,000 crore,” the statement said.

On the investment, Poonawalla said, “We hope to build and grow Dharma and touch even greater heights in the years to come.” On the investment made by Serene Productions, Johar said, “This partnership is an integral part of our emotional story. Under the new structure, Johar as executive chairman will lead the creative vision of the company, while Apoorva Mehta as chief executive officer will work with Johar in driving strategic direction and overseeing operations, the statement said .
