Serie A leader Naples needs a late goal to beat struggling Lecce 1-0

Dubai. Dubai. Serie A leaders Napoli needed a last-minute goal from captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo to earn a 1-0 win at home to struggling Lecce on Saturday. Di Lorenzo, who had his first goal ruled out by VAR, scored from close range after a rebound of a header by Scott McTominay. Antonio Conte's Napoli moved five points ahead of defending champions Inter Milan, who host rivals Juventus on Sunday. Lecce finished one point above last-place Venezia. Later, Atalanta were hosting Hellas Verona, while AC Milan's match was postponed due to heavy flooding in Bologna. Di Lorenzo's goal came a minute after Khvicha Kvaratskheliya had come on. This was Napoli's fourth consecutive win. The 2023 champions have not lost a match since their season opener at Hellas Verona in August. Napoli are not playing in Europe after finishing 10th in Serie A last season. After this, Milan will face Napoli on Tuesday.
