Several US bases in Kuwait, UAE, Qatar and Bahrain under attack by Iran’s IRGC
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has launched missile and drone attacks on multiple US military bases across the Gulf region, according to Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency. The strikes target key installations in Kuwait, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, and Bahrain, marking a direct retaliation to the ongoing joint US-Israel strikes on Iranian territory that began February 28, 2026.
Explosions, air-raid sirens, and missile interceptions have been reported in these locations. Bahrain’s state media confirmed a missile attack on the Fifth Fleet HQ, while witnesses in Abu Dhabi (UAE), Doha (Qatar)and Kuwait described loud blasts and emergency alerts. Qatar’s Defense Ministry stated it successfully intercepted and downed incoming missiles, with some Gulf nations activating shelter-in-place orders for US personnel and civilians.
These attacks follow President Donald Trump’s announcement of “major combat operations” against Iran, aimed at destroying its missile industry, annihilating its navy, neutralizing terrorist proxies, and preventing nuclear weapon development. Iran has vowed strong retaliation, with the IRGC describing the operation as “Basharat al-Fath” (Glad Tidings of Victory) in response to strikes on Tehran and other Iranian sites.
