Severe cold in Muzaffarpur, all schools from 1st to 8th closed till 1st January
The weather patterns are changing rapidly in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. Severe cold and cold wave have started affecting life. A huge drop in temperature is being recorded in the morning and evening, due to which the chill has increased. Meanwhile, keeping in mind the falling temperatures and the health of children, the district administration has taken an important decision with promptness, so that the children can be saved from this deadly cold.
Order issued to keep all government and private schools from class 1st to 8th closed till January 1
According to the order issued by the administration, all the schools from classes 1 to 8 running in the district will now remain closed till January 1. This order will be equally applicable to both government and private schools. The administration believes that due to extreme cold and dense fog in the morning, the health of small school going children can be adversely affected. To reduce this risk, holidays have been announced in schools as a precaution.
There is a possibility of dense fog and falling mercury affecting the health of children, decision on classes above 9th will be taken later.
Due to low visibility and icy winds in the morning, the risk of children falling ill had increased. Keeping this in view, this step has been taken. However, currently this order is only for class 8th. At present, the administration has not imposed any restrictions regarding the studies of students of class 9 and above. Officials say that the weather conditions are being constantly reviewed and only after observing the situation, a separate decision will be taken regarding the classes of senior students.

Considering the current weather conditions, the chances of getting relief from cold in the coming days are very less. It is estimated that the temperature may drop further and the cold wave may continue. In such a situation, the district administration has made a special appeal to the parents to take full precautions to protect their children from the cold. Keep children in warm clothes and ensure to follow the guidelines issued by the administration from time to time.
