Severe heat in Kanpur, schools closed till 12th
The scorching heat continues to wreak havoc in Kanpur. On the second day too, the temperature crossed 44 degrees Celsius, due to which normal life is being badly affected. The Meteorological Department has kept the city in the Red Zone and has issued a warning of severe heat wave in the coming days.
In view of the scorching heat, the administration has taken a big decision and ordered closure of all schools up to class 12th. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of children.
According to weather experts, the temperature may remain around 44 to 45 degrees Celsius in the coming days. The roads appear almost deserted in the afternoon and people are coming out of their homes only for important work.
In Kanpur, strong sunlight and hot winds started troubling people since morning. By afternoon the situation became worse. The gusts of hot wind made it difficult for people to go out.
Doctors have advised people not to leave their homes in the afternoon. Especially children, elderly and sick people have been asked to take extra precautions. The number of heat stroke and dehydration patients has started increasing in hospitals.
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning saying that there is little possibility of relief for the next few days. It has been advised to drink enough water and keep the body covered during heat wave.
