SFA Championships 2024: Hyderabad’s top talent sets ablaze Day 6

New Delhi: The landmark partnership between News9’s revolutionary football initiative “Indian Tigers and Tigresses” and Sports For All (SFA) has provided a perfect habitat for the young guns of Hyderabad to flourish and showcase their skills at the ongoing SFA Championships 2024.

TV9 Network has tied up with SFAone of the biggest youth sports development programmes in India, for the “Indian Tigers and Tigresses” campaign, India’s largest football talent hunt for young boys and girls (age group – 12 to 14 and 15 to 17) across the length and breadth of the country.

A one-of-a-kind initiative of News9, “Indian Tigers and Tigresses” has collaborated with Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, India Football Centre, IFI, BVB, and RIESPO, to identify and select the young talent in the country through a best-in-class scouting network. The winners will be felicitated in Germany in early 2025.

Day 6 witnesses electrifying action

Parents came out in numbers to support their kids on Day 6 of the SFA Championships 2024. Both children and their families enjoyed a sunny day at the SFA Village on a thrilling day of action, witnessing a vibrant display of talent across multiple venues. At the end of Day 6, Vignan’s Bo Tree School (Nizampet) maintained their top spot on the school leaderboard.

The day’s action began with Round 2 of Girls U-14 Basketball at Gachibowli Stadium. However, all eyes were on the Chess U13 and U15 boys finals where Shaik Abdul Mannan from Mount Carmel Global School claimed the gold medal. Meanwhile, girls from Vista International School excelled in the U-14 Girls Kho-Kho finals, cruising to victory to help their school climb up on the leaderboard.

Elsewhere at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, exciting football action grabbed the eyeballs while in Sri Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy indoor stadium, Taekwondo bouts took centre stage. Shaik Uddin from The Integral School claimed victory in the Male U-19 category while Sriyan Rangu from DAV Public School clinched the top prize in the Male U-12 category.

Apart from Taekwondo, the indoor stadium also hosted Badminton Round 2 and quarter-final matches as the excitement reached fever pitch for the upcoming finals.

In Shriram Skating Rink, Chervik Reddy Vellapallem from Ganges Valley School (Nizampet) won in the U-7 Male 200m Inline category whereas Vidhi Akaram from Birla Open Minds International School (LB Nagar) won in the 200m Inline Female U-11 category.

As part of SFA’s mission to professionalise, organise, and monetise grassroots sports, the Championships aim to foster a culture that promotes investment in sports at the grassroots level.
