Shabana Azmi honored with 'Excellence in Cinema' award at Mumbai International Film Festival

Veteran Bollywood actress Shabana Azmi has been honored with the 'Excellence in Cinema' award at the MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival.

Shabana Azmi was honored with 'Excellence in Cinema' at the MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival 2024, a tribute to her completion of 50 years in the industry. This award was given to Shabana Azmi by veteran actress Waheeda Rehman. Shabana Azmi's illustrious journey started with filmmaker Shyam Benegal's film Ankur released in 1974. Shabana Azmi has won countless awards including five National Film Awards. Shabana Azmi has also been awarded the Padma Shri in 2006 and the Padma Bhushan Award in 2012 for her remarkable contribution to films. Shabana Azmi has so far in her five decade long cine career. Has acted in about 150 films.
