Hanuman could have become Shahrukh Khan but one flaw took away the big opportunity
This incident happened in the year 2011 when Shahrukh was promoting his superhero film Ra.One. During that time, film critic Taran Adarsh had asked him a question about superhero characters. On this, Shahrukh shared an old experience and said that famous Hollywood director Tony Scott had approached him for a special concept film.
Despite getting such a big and unique offer, Shahrukh Khan did not accept it. He clearly explained the reason for this. He said that his English was not that strong at that time and he felt that he would not be able to do complete justice to that character. He also said in a humorous manner that if he had got a role at that time in which there was less speaking, then perhaps he would have done it.
In this conversation, Shahrukh also expressed his heartfelt desire. He said that he wants to present Indian mythology in a modern superhero style, especially it has been his dream to make Mahabharata in a style like X-Man, however, he also admitted that doing so may create controversy and people may also get angry.
Giving the example of his film Ra One, Shahrukh said that a glimpse of Ramayana can be seen in it too. According to him, through the characters of Zee One and Ra One, he tried to connect children with our mythological stories so that the new generation can understand their history and culture.
This incident not only shows a unique aspect of Shahrukh Khan’s career but also shows that sometimes even big opportunities are lost without the right timing and confidence. However, looking at the position Shahrukh is at today, it would not be wrong to say that he has created his own identity with his decisions.
