With this, he became the third bowler to take a wicket on the first ball in an ODI match against Australia. Earlier, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis had achieved such a feat. But Wasim and Waqar have done this only once in their career, whereas Shaheen Afridi has taken wickets on the first ball of the innings twice in the ODI match against Australia. Earlier, Shaheen had achieved such a feat against Australia in the year 2022. He has become the third bowler to do so for Pakistan.

Australia scored 231 runs
Batting first in this match, Australia scored 231 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs. Josh Inglis and Cameron Green played half-century innings for the team. Inglis scored 51 runs in 74 balls, while Green scored 53 runs in 92 balls. Apart from this, Matt Renshaw had scored 43 runs in 43 balls. For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi took 3 wickets after spending 36 runs in 8 overs, while Haris Rauf, Arafat Minhas and Abrar Ahmed got 2 wickets each.
