‘Shahrukh Khan did not say sorry, his ego is big…’: Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya breaks silence on old enmity

Recently she spoke openly about the rift in her relationship with superstar Shahrukh Khan. There have been differences between the two for many years, which the singer has mentioned many times. Recently, the singer attributed this rift to ‘ego’ and ‘self-respect’.

Abhijeet, who participated in Nidhi Vasandani’s podcast, said that the biggest reason for the distance between him and Shahrukh was the different nature and thinking of both of them. He said that he is sad that no attempt was ever made to understand his feelings or improve the situation.

Singer told that he was most saddened by the fact that even after admitting his mistake, no one apologized. He said, “What saddens me the most is that you have not apologized even once. You are such a great person, yet you have not apologised.” He further said that this incident has left a deep emotional impact on him.

‘I was the voice of Shahrukh’
Abhijeet recalled the period of his career when he was considered the voice of Shahrukh Khan. He said that he felt proud of this and that is why he stopped singing for other artists for a long time. According to him, this was not ego, but the result of their connection and emotions.

Singer also said that he was ignored on many occasions. He believes that if Shahrukh had wanted, the relationship could have been managed with a small initiative. He said that even when he was present around, he was not included in the conversation.

However, despite so many differences, Abhijeet also made it clear that if there is a reconciliation in future, he is ready to sing for Shahrukh again. He expressed confidence that even today he can give the kind of voice that Shahrukh wants.

For many years, Abhijeet Bhattacharya was considered one of the most well-known playback singers of Shahrukh Khan. He lent his voice to many popular songs from films like Badshah and ‘Main Hoon Na’.

However, their professional collaboration reportedly ended after ‘Billiu’. Abhijeet has reiterated for many years that the reason for their breakup was not getting proper recognition and credit, especially during the shooting of ‘Main Hoon Na’, which hurt his self-esteem.
