Shahrukh Khan in the midst of controversy after taking Bangladeshi player Musafizur Rahman in the team, Hindu organization angry
New Delhi. Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has come under increasing controversy over his IPL team KKR’s decision to include Bangladeshi player Musafizur Rahman, with many quarters criticizing him while some say that the actor is being targeted because of his Muslim identity. BJP and Shiv Sena leaders said that in view of the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh, they will not allow Rahman to play in the IPL.
Meanwhile, opposition Congress leader Bhai Jagtap supported Khan and said that this controversy is proof of the “dual policy of BJP-RSS” because India still plays cricket with Pakistan. BJP leader Sangeet Som said, “Hindus are being tortured, murdered, stripped from their homes and beaten… Buying players from there is treason. People like Shahrukh Khan are traitors.
Shiv Sena leader Krishna Hegde said the party’s stand has always been that no player from places involved in atrocities against Hindus or involved in terrorist attacks in India should be allowed to play in India. “We will request the IPL governing body and BCCI to ban these players… They cannot enjoy hospitality, benefits and wealth from India by torturing Hindus in Bangladesh,” he said.
Spiritual guru Rambhadracharya also criticized Shahrukh Khan. “It is unfortunate, but he will do this because he is considered a hero,” he alleged. Shahrukh Khan’s attitude has always been against the nation. His character has always been suspicious and anti-national.” Voices were also raised in support of Shahrukh Khan.
Congress leader Jagtap said, “Shahrukh Khan is being targeted because he is a Muslim.” Even after ‘Operation Sindoor’ we play cricket with Pakistani cricketers. This is the dual policy of BJP-RSS.” He said that Shahrukh Khan himself does not select the team.
The Congress leader said, “There is a process of team selection and I have never seen Shahrukh Khan involved in that process. Juhi Chawla and her husband are involved in that process because they are partners. It is not that Shahrukh Khan goes to Bangladesh and Pakistan and selects players.
He said that everything happens with the consent of ICC. According to Trinamool Congress spokesperson Kunal Ghosh, it is not necessary to politicize every issue. He asked, “What will they gain by targeting Shahrukh Khan?” Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi also questioned the uproar over the inclusion of a Bangladeshi player in Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Azmi said, “Has the player he has included in the team ever harmed Hindus? To put it plainly, it is the governments that spread hatred. Where is Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh, who was sentenced to death, now? They have been allowed to live in our country. Then there is the case of Taslima Nasreen… Looking at all these issues it becomes clear that all this is being done only to spread hatred among the people.
