Shahrukh Khan is being criticized for spending crores on Bangladeshi cricketer… BJP leader called him a traitor

New Delhi. BCCI has not yet taken any decision on whether Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman will play in IPL 2026 or not. But after he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 9.20 crore in the auction, KKR co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan is being heavily criticized. Meanwhile, former member of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Sangeet Som has called Shahrukh Khan a traitor. He says that whatever Shahrukh Khan has, India has given it, the people of India have given it, but where does he invest this money? They blame it on players from a country which is working against India.

Sangeet Som said, “The way Hindus are being tortured in Bangladesh, women and girls are being raped, their houses are being burnt, and anti-India slogans are being raised there. Despite all this, traitors like Shahrukh Khan, I am calling him a traitor because whatever he has, has been given by India, given by the people of India, but where do they spend this money? They spend it on the players of a country which is working against India. I Want to tell people like Shahrukh Khan that they will not be successful. At any cost, they will not be able to let Mustafizur Rehman step out of the airport.

BCCI is waiting for the government’s order
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has adopted a clear stand on this controversy and has currently adopted a ‘wait and watch’ policy. BCCI says that it will not ban any player without instructions from the government. Clarifying the situation, a senior board official told Inside Sport, “The situation is sensitive. We are in constant touch with the government. At present there is nothing to ban Bangladeshi players. Mustafizur will play IPL. Bangladesh is not an enemy country.” The board is also currently in talks with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) regarding visas for Bangladeshi players for the T20 World Cup 2026.

However, Mustafizur’s full availability in the IPL will still depend on several factors. Bangladesh has to play a series against New Zealand in April and if Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) refuses to give NOC, then he may remain out of many matches. Regarding the visa, the BCCI official has said, “Mustafizur Rahman will apply for the visa for the T20 World Cup, which will be extended for the IPL. The visa will not be a big problem. There has been no negative indication regarding the NOC from the BCB side either.” At present BCCI is completely waiting for the next order of the Government of India.
