Shah’s ‘Counting of April’ increased the heartbeat.

The upcoming assembly elections in Bengal (Bengal Election 2026) and the process of formation of the new government may be completed before time. Home Minister Amit Shah (Amit Shah’s) statement has fueled this discussion.

In a press conference in Kolkata on Tuesday, Shah said twice that Bengal elections will be held in April only and after April 15 next year, BJP government will be formed in the state. He claimed that the work of re-establishing the glory of Bengal will begin.

After this statement of Shah, brainstorming on election dates and phases has started within Bengal BJP (Bengal Election 2026). The tenure of the present government is ending in the first week of May.

Bengal Assembly elections are usually held in seven or eight phases, but according to Shah, if the government has to be formed by April 15, the election process will have to be expedited. Political analysts believe that in this situation the number of voting phases may be reduced.

Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari was already saying that if there is a hindrance in the voter list, the elections may be postponed and there may be a situation of President’s rule. But Shah’s stance has made it clear that instead of postponing the elections, they can be held earlier.

The final voter list will be published on February 14 and after that the Election Commission may announce the election date in early March. In this way, the possibility of early assembly elections in Bengal (Bengal Election 2026) has increased rapidly and BJP is making active preparations for this.
