Shameful! Ireland defeated India in the second T20 match, captured the series

New Delhi: Ireland defeated India by one run in the second T20 and won the two-match series 2-0. Team India, which won 16 consecutive T20 series, finally lost a series. Ireland created history by making a clean sweep. For the first time in international cricket, Ireland has won a series from India.

The target of 155 runs became a mountain, Team India fell apart in the power play itself.   

Ireland, playing first, scored 154 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, India could score only 153 runs losing 9 wickets and lost the match by one run. In this way captain Shreyas Iyer lost his first T20 series.

India turned the modest target of 155 runs into a mountain with poor batting. The beginning was very bad. Both the openers could not even open the account. Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma were dismissed by Jai Mundhra for a duck. Ishan Kishan was run out after scoring 12 runs in 11 balls. Captain Shreyas Iyer again flopped. Returned after scoring 10 runs in seven balls with two fours.

Tilak Verma’s slow innings, Akshar-Dubey also did not work     

Axar Patel was promoted after four wickets fell for 35 runs in the powerplay. Akshar scored 14 runs in 18 balls without any boundary. Tilak Verma stood firm at one end but could not increase the run pace. Shivam Dubey scored 20 runs in 16 balls, but was out after seeing the required run rate increasing.

Debutant Suryansh Shedge failed in batting after bowling. Could score only one run in five balls. Tilak Verma was out after scoring 55 runs in 46 balls. His innings included three fours and a six.

The thrill of the last over: Harshit Rana’s attempt failed  

India needed 34 runs in the last two overs. Harshit Rana hit one four and one six in the 19th over. 14 runs were scored in the over. 20 runs were needed in the last over. Part time spinner Harry Tector came to bowl.

The first ball was wide. Got a full toss on no ball but Rana could take only two runs. A four on a free hit. When 11 runs were left in four balls, Rana took a single. Arshdeep got a strike. He took a single after the wide. Eight runs were needed from two balls, but Rana was out. Harshit scored 21 runs in 10 balls. Prince Yadav hit a six on the last ball, but India lost by one run.
