BCB: Bangladesh has refused to come to India for the T20 World Cup starting next month. This controversy has increased after the ouster of Tej Ganjbaz Rahman. Now Bangladesh’s Test captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto has also given his reaction. He has admitted that an attempt is being made to show that the situation within the team is ‘everything is fine’, but the reality is the opposite.

Impact on mental health of players

Giving a big statement, Shanto said that the uncertainty regarding Bangladesh’s participation in the T20 World Cup to be held in India next month is now taking a heavy toll on the players’ performance and their mental health. Shanto said that before every World Cup some controversy arises, which impacts the team’s results on the field. He regretted that the T20 World Cup is to start from February 7, but till now it is not clear where the team will play.

Tamim Iqbal insulted

Shanto’s most scathing attack was on BCB Director M. Nazmul Islam, who had called former captain Tamim Iqbal an ‘agent of India’. Shanto said that it is very sad for him and the entire team to hear such comments from a successful player and former captain like Tamim.

He clarified that whether a successful player or not, every cricketer deserves respect. Comparing the board to parents, Shanto said, “If parents want to improve, they do it at home, not make a scene in front of everyone.”

What is the whole controversy?

This dispute between BCB and BCCI started when KKR dropped fast bowler Rahman from the team on the instructions of BCCI. Let us tell you that KKR had bought it in the mini auction of IPL 2026 at a price of Rs 9.2 crore. But BCB did not like showing Rahman the way out.

After this, citing security reasons and increasing political tension, ICC was demanded to shift Bangladesh’s matches to be held in India to a neutral venue. On which Tamim Iqbal had said that think before doing anything.
